Horse and Groom

Right. Well it was a a quiet night, but the crowd that were in were really responsive and gave lots of positive feedback. Steve's Gramma Pad is defo making a difference to the overall sound, much clearer.

Rachel requested ' I Like you so much better when your naked', as she had seen us before, we lucked out as we had not played it in months! But nearer the end of the evening she reminded us of the request, so we obliged and hey! ho! we cut a pretty damn fine version of it.

Thanks to the staff and regulars of the Horse and Groom for making us feel very welcome. Kevin, the landlord has asked us back so see you all later in the year.

Quiet nights and engaged duscussions

 Hello

Well, what to say? It was a quiet night in the pub, but we had a core audience who stayed the whole night and appeared to engage with what we were doing. Some songs sparked discussions up between us all, for example who played guitar on a particular track, when in doubt phones were whipped out, internet accessed and the correct answer sourced! What a lot of muso's we are!

Next gig is the 3rd July at The Horse and Groom.

See ya

Suffolk

 Hi

I always enjoy playing in Suffolk. It seems to me that the mix we put together really hits the spot. North Street Tavern is a good pub for us and thanks to Claire for the booking. We are back there in December. Between our schedule and available dates that was the earliest we could do. Anyway, by then we will have changed the set again and be ready to rock the house.

We gave the packed a good run of classics and our own mash ups, it's good to feel that you have delivered, not only what makes you happy but puts a smile on another's face and keeps them supping so the Landlady is happy!

So until next time...keep rocking!!

An exclusive soiree in Ipswich

 Helllooo..

First of all, thank you to the Landlady at The Beer House for the booking. Unfortunately we fell foul of this wonderful weather and it seemed most people had decided to stay at home and have a BBQ.

Mind you that did not stop us doing what it is we do best, rock and pop in The Rubb stylie. We had some great feed back tonight, plus ladies dancing, and in the main we had a solid crowd with us for the whole night, so that as far as I am good, means a job well done.

See you in Sudbury on the 11th June.

A fitting close to the month

We had a another fab gig last night at O'Neills in Colchester. Hopefully nobody noticed too much the technical difficulties I had with sound. Trouble is you soundcheck and the pub is not full, then as the crowd ebb and flow throughout the night, the acoustics change and unless you have the luxury of someone to listen and 'twiddle your knobs', you have to keep going and hope you can get to the PA to make an adjustment or wait to the next song and have a quick break, which is not good from an audience point of view.

Anyway, being the professionals we are, we stepped up to the plate and did what we do best, rock with melody! There were a lot of peep's there who out danced me totally!

Well we have a bit of break now, what with holidays and such like. But we hope to see you at our next gigs. Keep a look out on our gig dates as we are always adding to the list.  Also, do not forget you can join us on facebook, www.facebook/therubb .

Cheers to everyone!

Maldon nights..

 Hey!

We had a fab night tonight, good mix of audience they suited our eclectic offerings. Quite a few suggestions for new tracks as well, so we shall see...

Sheena whose pub it is has re booked us for later this year, so we look forward to our return. Thank you!

Another nice thing that happened was that another pub came to check us out., took a card and wanted to book us in a few weeks time.

I am now exhausted and wish to retire to my boudoir!

It was worth the wait...

Howdy!

Well I must say last nights gig was fantabulous, not only were the crowd great, we played so well as a band, each of us doing what it is we do best but coming together as a team. I cannot believe we were actually asked by one audience member to go louder, much to Mr. Heath's liking!

I especially enjoyed doing the new track, Only happy when it rains.

We gained some new FB friends and Manager Carla also told us how great it  was to see so much energy coming from all the band. We hope to be re booked later in the year.

Thanks to Carla for rescheduling our snowed out gig of Janaury and to all our mates who gave us there support last night, nice one (as Freddie Rockstar would say)!

So here is to next time...Cheers.

Sat 3rd April

 Hi

Popped into the Boars Head last night as we were aware that there might be a change in management, and as it happened yes there was!
So we are waiting to her from the new manager if the gigs in May and June are going to go ahead.

First time for us at The Orange Tree, Cressing Road, Braintree on Sat. Thanks to Landlord Dave for the booking. It's a nice big open spaced pub and so we unleashed the full might of The Rubb on them! Thanks to all the people who came to see us and it was good to see a few familiar faces .

Very pleased with how we performed Black Dog and the new track by Garbage, Only happy when it rains.

Facebook

Hi

We have a page on facbook now 'therubb essex' . It's turning out to be a good way to network and come onto the radar of venues. I am still trying to work out how to upload videos, so if anyone knows please tell me!

Had a good gig at The Boars Head on Saturday.  Must give a shout out to the ladies from Dunmow, who strutted their funky stuff .

Ed was on a roll with the lads who deeply appreciated his efforts on Crazy Train and Beat it.

Another revelation that night, was it was the first time anyone in the audience ever publicly admitted to being a Van halen fan, so that really made the boys night!

Ended with RATM as an encore, you cannot ask for more can you?!

See you on the 3rd April at The Orange Tree, Cressing Road, Braintree.

Gigging

Hi

We had a fab night at the North Street Tavern, thanks go to Landlady, Claire for the booking.

North Street Tavern is one of those pubs that ebbs and flows all night, so you get a core audience mixed with a transient one. For me, I enjoy it 'cos the peeps there like a bit of banter, so it makes the evening all the more enjoyable.

We premiered 4 new songs and were pleased with the reception they recieved.

So looking to the future, it would be good to see you at The Boars Head, Braintree on 20th March.
