					<description>Right. Well it was a a quiet night, but the crowd that were in were really responsive and gave lots of positive feedback. Steve&apos;s Gramma Pad is defo making a difference to the overall sound, much clearer.&amp;nbsp;

Rachel requested &apos; I&amp;nbsp;Like you so much better when your naked&apos;, as she had seen us before, we lucked out as we had not played it in months! But nearer the end of the evening she reminded us of the request, so we obliged and hey! ho! we cut a pretty damn fine version of it.&amp;nbsp;

Thanks to the staff and regulars of the Horse and Groom for making us feel very welcome. Kevin, the landlord has asked us back so see you all later in the year. &amp;nbsp;

					<title>Quiet nights and engaged duscussions</title>

					<description>&amp;nbsp;Hello&amp;nbsp;

Well, what to say? It was a quiet night in the pub, but we had a core audience who stayed the whole night and appeared to engage with what we were doing. Some songs sparked discussions up between us all, for example who played guitar on a particular track, when in doubt phones were whipped out, internet accessed and the correct answer sourced! What a lot of muso&apos;s we are!&amp;nbsp;

Next gig is the 3rd July at The Horse and Groom.&amp;nbsp;

See ya&amp;nbsp;

					<description>&amp;nbsp;Hi&amp;nbsp;

I always enjoy playing in Suffolk. It seems to me that the mix we put together really hits the spot. North Street Tavern is a good pub for us and thanks to Claire for the booking. We are back there in December. Between our schedule and available dates that was the earliest we could do. Anyway, by then we will have changed the set again and be ready to rock the house.&amp;nbsp;

We gave the packed a good run of classics and our own mash ups, it&apos;s good to feel that you have delivered, not only what makes you happy but puts a smile on another&apos;s face and keeps them supping so the Landlady is happy!&amp;nbsp;

So until next time...keep rocking!!&amp;nbsp;

					<description>&amp;nbsp;Helllooo..&amp;nbsp;

First of all, thank you to the Landlady at The Beer House for the booking. Unfortunately we fell foul of this wonderful weather and it seemed most people had decided to stay at home and have a BBQ.&amp;nbsp;

Mind you that did not stop us doing what it is we do best, rock and pop in The Rubb stylie. We had some great feed back tonight, plus ladies dancing, and in the main we had a solid crowd with us for the whole night, so that as far as I am good, means a job well done.&amp;nbsp;

See you in Sudbury on the 11th June.&amp;nbsp;

					<title>A fitting close to the month</title>
					<link>http://therubb.co.uk/therubbblogpodcast.cfm?feature=360302&amp;postid=255144</link>
					<description>&amp;nbsp;We had a another fab gig last night at O&apos;Neills in Colchester. Hopefully nobody noticed too much the technical difficulties I had with sound. Trouble is you soundcheck and the pub is not full, then as the crowd ebb and flow throughout the night, the acoustics change and unless you have the luxury of someone to listen and &apos;twiddle your knobs&apos;, you have to keep going and hope you can get to the PA to make an adjustment or wait to the next song and have a quick break, which is not good from an audience point of view.&amp;nbsp;

Anyway, being the professionals we are, we stepped up to the plate and did what we do best, rock with melody! There were a lot of peep&apos;s there who out danced me totally!

Well we have a bit of break now, what with holidays and such like. But we hope to see you at our next gigs. Keep a look out on our gig dates as we are always adding to the list. &amp;nbsp;Also, do not forget you can join us on facebook, www.facebook/therubb .

Cheers to everyone!

					<description>&amp;nbsp;Hey!

We had a fab night tonight, good mix of audience they suited our eclectic offerings. Quite a few suggestions for new tracks as well, so we shall see...

Sheena whose pub it is has re booked us for later this year, so we look forward to our return. Thank you!

Another nice thing that happened was that another pub came to check us out., took a card and wanted to book us in a few weeks time.&amp;nbsp;

I am now exhausted and wish to retire to my boudoir!

					<description>Howdy!

Well I must say last nights gig was fantabulous, not only were the crowd great, we played so well as a band, each of us doing what it is we do best but coming together as a team. I cannot believe we were actually asked by one audience member to go louder, much to Mr. Heath&apos;s liking!

I especially enjoyed doing the new track, Only happy when it rains.

We gained some new FB friends and Manager Carla also told us how great it&amp;nbsp; was to see so much energy coming from all the band. We hope to be re booked later in the year.

Thanks to Carla for rescheduling our snowed out gig of Janaury and to all our mates who gave us there support last night, nice one (as Freddie Rockstar would say)!

So here is to next time...Cheers.

					<description>&amp;nbsp;Hi&amp;nbsp;

Popped into the Boars Head last night as we were aware that there might be a change in management, and as it happened yes there was!&amp;nbsp;
So we are waiting to her from the new manager if the gigs in May and June are going to go ahead.&amp;nbsp;

First time for us at The Orange Tree, Cressing Road, Braintree on Sat. Thanks to Landlord Dave for the booking. It&apos;s a nice big open spaced pub and so we unleashed the full might of The Rubb on them! Thanks to all the people who came to see us and it was good to see a few familiar faces .&amp;nbsp;

Very pleased with how we performed Black Dog and the new track by Garbage, Only happy when it rains.&amp;nbsp;

					<description>Hi

We have a page on facbook now &apos;therubb essex&apos; . It&apos;s turning out to be a good way to network and come onto the radar of venues. I am still trying to work out how to upload videos, so if anyone knows please tell me!

Had a good gig at The Boars Head on Saturday.&amp;nbsp; Must give a shout out to the ladies from Dunmow, who strutted their funky stuff .

Ed was on a roll with the lads who deeply appreciated his efforts on Crazy Train and Beat it.

Another revelation that night, was it was the first time anyone in the audience ever publicly admitted to being a Van halen fan, so that really made the boys night!

Ended with RATM as an encore, you cannot ask for more can you?!

See you on the 3rd April at The Orange Tree, Cressing Road, Braintree.

					<description>Hi

We had a fab night at the North Street Tavern, thanks go to Landlady, Claire for the booking.

North Street Tavern is one of those pubs that ebbs and flows all night, so you get a core audience mixed with a transient one. For me, I enjoy it &apos;cos the peeps there like a bit of banter, so it makes the evening all the more enjoyable.

We premiered 4 new songs and were pleased with the reception they recieved.

So looking to the future, it would be good to see you at The Boars Head, Braintree on 20th March.

					<description>Howdy! Ho!

Well, I realised today that I have not blogged for over a month, how remiss of me!

We had a testing night at The River Lodge with the decibel meter, but being the professionals we are, we triumphed over adversity!

It also helped that Lori who manages the venue was supportive to us as well. Thank you for the re booking in June.

Thanks to all the friends who came to see us.

Looking forward to next Saturday at The North Street Tavern in Sudbury, played there twice before and hopefully the crowd will be as up for it as they have been before. 3 new tracks will be making their premieres, as ever ...lets rock!

					<description>Hello again!

Both us and the landlord were unsure how we would go down last night. We are a loud band and he has only just started doing live music.

After a brief settling in period, the crowd came on board very quickly.

It was great to see the ladies strutting their stuff.

Eddie, your tambourine playing was spot on.

Thanks to all our friends who gave us their support last night.

OK, that&apos;s all for now, see you on the 5th February at The River Lodge in Colchester.

					<description>Hi

It&apos;s a shame that the gig was called off on Sat night. But I understand the Landlady&apos;s reason and it was nice to be included in the decision to play or not to play. I am hopeful that we can reschedule this gig and have been asked to call back later this week to rearrange.

Anyway, always looking forward, last night Ed and I started work on a track written by him. We hope to add a few of our own compositions throughout this year.

Hope to see you at The Whie Hart this Friday at 9pm, as ever ready to rock!&amp;nbsp;

					<description>HNY!

Well last week we all met up over a curry at The Raj of India in Rayne (and very nice it was to) to do a Secret Santa to decide the new set list. Little Stevie Heath thought it would be a good way of everyone having their say and a fun way to try new songs. So the idea was we all had 3 song choices each and then these were picked out at random. The order the come out in is then the order we must learn them in. The hope is that we all agree they are good songs, we can play them well whilst adding a bit of &apos;Rubbness&apos; to them.

The mix as usual, is&amp;nbsp; eclectic, mad and quite exciting!

So after the next two gigs we will crack on with getting to grips with these 12 songs.&amp;nbsp;

So, whilst Paris is burning you might want to experience a new sensation with an unnatural selection!

					<description>Hi

Why is is that when you expect nothing you get someting?

I really thought last night would be quiet due to the weather, but no, people were out and ready to party!

As a band we have decided to go back to what was the original ethos that Ed and Steve discussed when they met and formed their mutual appreciation society.&amp;nbsp; Go in hard and play every note like its our last. The last two gigs we have done just that and its worked for us. We have had more fun and the audience gets what we are about right from the start.

Last night Steve felt instead of closing with RAGE as we like to do,&amp;nbsp; we should open with it, we then went from one song to the next with such commitment and confidence that it felt like everyone &apos;got it&apos;, whatever the it is!

Anyway, thanks to all the dancers and singers and yes even a nod to Mr &apos;WOW - WOW&amp;nbsp; -&amp;nbsp; WOW!&apos;&amp;nbsp; and thanks to Landlord Stuart for the booking.

See you all in January, 9th is in Colchester at The Marquis and the 15th The White Hart, Halstead.

Have a fab xmas and healthy New Year to you and yours.

					<title>Everything happens for a reason</title>
					<link>http://therubb.co.uk/therubbblogpodcast.cfm?feature=360302&amp;postid=128758</link>
					<description>Hi

You know the more I progress in life the more I realise that everything happens for a reason.

This week, saw us have a gig rescheduled and just as that happened I have come down with a bad throat infection!

Sometimes you worry when things happen, but now I am getting to the point where I realise that you just gotta go with the flow, it makes the ride a lot easier!

I know Dr. Kragh will be proud of me!

					<description>Hi

Unfortunately our gig at The Royal Marine was cancelled for Sat 28th. Thanks to the pub for giving us plenty of notice though. We hope to speak to them this week as they have asked us to play there next year Spring/Summer.

					<description>Hi

This week saw us pick up 9 dates for next year. It feels good to get re bookings. Whilst I feel that for me a gig is about giving a good performance and entertaining both us and the audience, it&apos;s also equally important that the pub sees you bring in a crowd or keep their regulars happy.

Thanks as ever go to the Landlord for the booking and hello to the fella&apos;s who chatted to us after and gave us opinions and thanked us for a good night out!

					<title>Slow burner with an on fire ending!</title>
					<link>http://therubb.co.uk/therubbblogpodcast.cfm?feature=360302&amp;postid=113375</link>
					<description>Hi

Last night at The Boars Head was what I would call a slow burner. We started with a reasonable size audience who enjoyed music, then as the evening wore on the crowd ebbed and flowed until 11pm. We thought that the licence was until 11 for music but Landlord Stuart said it was till 12, so rock on! So rock on we and the crowd did. Well, we did after we sorted out a blown amp.

As a band we all made our contributions to the Halloween theme, Mr Ed &apos;Dave Hill for one night only&apos; Kragh, Steve &apos;grim reaper with a bass&apos; Heath (has announced that he has grown attached to his hooded gown and might never gig in anything else again), and me as a dead bride. Mr Binding, well look at the pic&apos;s and decide for yourselves.

For me the evening ended on a high as many people told us how much they enjoyed the way we mixed songs up and added something of ourselves to every track. Smoke on Mama as ever divided opinion.

As ever our thanks go to the Landlord for the booking.

Good to see Keith and Brenda, part of the South Essex contingent.

I would like to say thanks to the family and friends who were there last night of the other band members, they have also given us their support over the past year.

It was nice to see familiar faces who we now know come to watch us when we play in Braintree, remember to spread the word!

See you next time!

Hi

Just back from another fab gig in Sudbury. I have to say the crowd at the North Street Tavern always do us proud.

Smoke on Mama as ever split the pub down the middle, you either love it or you consider it sacrilege.

Me, I just feel you should never take yourself or music too seriously, it&apos;s a death knell.

What is it with RAGE and &apos;killing in the name of&apos;? People just go nuts. As Mr Heath says, it is the perfect group therapy song.

Big up to the drivers from Telford on a one night stop over who asked us if we had an CD&apos;s. Oh, and &apos;Auntie&apos; from Somerset, fantastic dancing lady!

Thanks as ever goes to Landlady Claire for the booking.

We have been invited back so will update the website next week once all is confirmed.

Nite Nite.
